Classes of the department of East Asian Culture --Isobel
I really need to thank Susy for taking us to the apartment of East Asian Culture with her patience, kindness and charming smiles. Even if I'm hardly able to understand what the teacher and students were saying in the Japanese class, I was still impressed by the ambiance where the teacher and students both spoke a lot. And it's interesting to see Americans to study Chinese, one of the most difficult languagues in the world.
By visiting these classes, agin, I've noticed the trend of globalization and the development of knowledge. Learning languages besides a mother tongue truly provides people with a wider world and totally different experiences that are very possible for us to influence our inner mind, our original lifestyle and something like that. I do believe that languages can act as bridges that provide a way to eliminate gaps between different nations and cultures. Nowadays, more and more people are learning different languages and caring about national affairs and diverse cultures, which witnesses a development of our society and the open mind of people. I'm always moved to see people being solidary and care about each other.
It's hard to learn a language. However, if I can't speak English, I wouldn't be here to appreciate the extremely blue sky and to meet so many warm-hearted and interesting people. I appreciate everything that I have chance to experience a lot.

Fall in love with sports
I am not a sport girl, actually I hate sports! When I took part in PE, I was always a lazy expert in the class, and there were really a hard time to me to run 800 meters running in the final exam. But during these days, I went to the gym and did a lot of sports like badminton, swimming, playing billiard and running in the machine. Although it is so tired that I always fall asleep as soon as I get into my room, I really have a great time here!
Sports make me forget innumerable troubles and what I do is only devote myself in the sports and release all of pressure!
Every time I go to the gym with different people to do different things, I can always learn a lot from them and I think it is one of harvest for me to take part in the summer school. I have learnt how to swim and playing badminton more professional from York and Jeremy, how to playing billiard from Ezio, what's more I always playing with Tico😝
I will appreciate the time we spend together and it is my honor to meet all of you in this summer!
Visit to East Asian Language Class!
Yesterday we got the precious chance to visit the East Asian language class in Ohio State University. We attended a Japanese class taught by a Chinese teacher at 9:10, then we visited a teachers training class that taught teachers how to teach Chinese, after that, we attended a Chinese language class.
The first class we visited was a Japanese class, there were about eight students in this class, they have been learning Japanese for a period of time so the class was taught in Japanese, it is really hard for us to understand what they were learning, luckily, I knew some Japanese words and simple sentences because I watched a lot of Japanese shows before. All the students spoke Japanese all the time, and their pronunciation were very good. I notice that their teaching way is quite different from our teaching way, in the Japanese class, the students keep talking in Japanese and practicing all the time, the teacher will make sure that everyone would have enough time to practice Japanese and learn something while in our English class, most of the time we will listen to our teacher reading their teaching book and take a test afterwards. Our English class should learn from the Japanese class, the teachers should make sure that everyone can be involved in the class and get the chance to practice their oral English.
After the Japanese class we went to visit the Chinese class.Though the class was taught in English, we can understand it completely. There were five foreign students in the Chinese class, and the teaching way was the same as that of the Japanese class, everyone had the chance to practice spoken Chinese.I have to admit that their Chinese class was really hard, and all the students did their best to pronounce the Chinese characters correctly.
The visit to East Asian language class is really precious, all of us learn a lot from these classes. Thanks Susy for providing this chance for us, that was a really wonderful experience for me!!

Wetland&farm
Yesterday's trip to the farm is excellent as I finally saw many animals, lol.
The first picture is a new-born butterfly, which was spreading its wings(Pete told us)That's really amazing!

The second one is a baby cow.It was imprisoned in the small small place. She just stand on his poop, and have no space to move. She looks anxiety, that is so sad.
And I ask Dr.Larry what will happen to the male cow as they can't produce milk.He told me that several best male cow will be preserved for hybridization and the other will be sell for meat.
It's very exciting to have this opportunity to see the wetland and farm, and I also feel very happy to talk with the kind and knowledgeable old man--Dr.Larry.
